Yuko Tanaka
Jewelry Statement
In my jewelry you will find my interpretation of intangibles, such as human emotions, the passage of time, and connections between people and nature. These abstract ideas are integral to my personal narrative. I manipulate the materials to transform ideas into adornment for the body. Layers of contents such as form, texture, color, and materials are put together to convey the idea. For me, the importance of making art lies in its process. I invite the viewers/wearers to interpret my work in their own terms. My goal is that they find a personal connection to my jewelry.
